Vehicle tax questions

i claimed mileage on my taxes for 2011 but need to claim actual expenses (i think) for this year. is this change a red flag or does it not really matter.
im self employed btw and this vehicle is used for business matters.

When you claim mileage, the amount per mile ($.55 this year) accounts for your expenses. I don't think you can claim one or the other, but I could be wrong about that.

what i mean is im NOT claiming miles this year and claiming actual expenses instead

You can go from mileage to Actual...just not the other way.
