LSU had to get Riley this year because we needed a connection with JC players next year.

Don't take anything away from Duke. Kid is a helluva player. Worked hard and earned it. Very instinctive LB.
I was in JT's office once and met a tall lanky kid. JT said afterwards "That kid is a special talent." Turns out it was Malachi Dupre. I would imagine it would take a lot for him to say something like that about a player.

Ever heard of Debo Jones or Dillon Gordon?

He is close with Nick Saban and Jimbo Fisher though. Take that how you want.
That is true, originating from Saban's tenure at LSU.
I've heard this rumor and have a hard time believing it. At the same time, I don't think that JC is an automatic pipeline to LSU, Bama or FSU. From what I know, JC first and foremost is committed to winning their own games over selling their players to college.
It's fairly common knowledge that JC generally is more of a system oriented program than one that builds around a particular athlete(s). That may change a little if an exceptional player (McKnight, Dupre) is around. But their success at producing impact players in college is far less than their on the field success as a program.
That's not knocking the program at all. In fact, it's a testament to a true team-first concept. In that light I think they do produce well disciplined players who will thrive under the right college coaching.
But I do think that Riley is a hidden gem and it doesn't hurt he comes from Curtis. CLM and FW would be wise to show their face regularly around there.....

Not saying your FOS MrLSU but I saw one Only one JC game this year which was the championship game and Duke Riley stood out. Best player on the field, no question.
