I checked one on accident one time in a golf bag. I couldn't believe it made it through security.

This past year my coworkers wife went to bring her mother to the airport. She is Slovakian and her mother is very old and didn't speak English well so she escorted her in the airport.

Well, they found her 38 in her purse and needless to say made a huge deal. Wanted to take her CC away and charge her 10-15k.

Luckily she got out of it with a much smaller fine but damn. Terrorist won.

I know a guy that had to fly for a business trip a few weeks after 9/11. Some of his buddies put a cardboard cut-out of a pistol wrapped in aluminum foil in his bag without him knowing it. The people at the airport were not amused . He was delayed about an hour and missed his flight.
