so, after watching the first episode of season 5, i was pretty disappointed. something wasnt the same. and then i read all about sorkins split with the network/show following season 4.

i like sorkin, dont LOVE him, but i gotta say, a few more episodes into season 5 and im crushed. it all feels like a lame reproduction of the west wing. the spark seems to have left with sorkin. i still like these characters, but three more seasons is a commitment.

does it get any better? do the new writers get into the swing of things later on down the line? should i keep watching, or is it all down hill from here?

It never got any worse for me. I enjoy 5-7 just as much as 1-4. The biggest thing that sucked was having Rob Lowe leave the show. His character was awesome.

I think 5 is the low point in the show. It picks back up for 6 and 7.

I still love the entire series, but there is a noticeable difference (which one would expect when the guy who ran ER takes over a show about the White House...) between 1-4 and 5-7.

The only real thing I have a minor quibble with is what they did with Leo after CJ became so popular. They had nothing to do with him, and showed it...he did nothing.
