KYS, this all anyone needs to see to tell that you have no idea what you are talking about. Garage rock and metal are so vastly different from one another. And I never said the guy should be up for album of the year but you gave a really horrible list of bands that you believe to be "lo-fi" and he was my (very good) example.

And by the way, I hold on to my opinions so tightly because my opinions are better than yours. I take time to listen to every album I possibly can every single day. I know for a fact that I can say the opposite about how and when you listen to music.

"I mean, garage, it's even more depressing than whatever punk has become because punk can mean anything from Pennywise or baggy-pants Warped Tour garbage to the bands that are actually great. At least there's some variety. Garage is where punk rockers go to be even more close-minded. Pretty quickly, I had more contempt for garage people than I did the rest of the world, so I wanted to do something to get away from it…somehow, it's so easy to get stuck in that rut." -- Jay Reatard, 2009. (bolding is mine)

I'm deeply hurt you think Modest Mouse, the Archers, Pavement, Yo La Tengo, Neutral Milk Hotel, etc. are horrible. It will definitely keep me up tonight.

I'm not sure if you're serious or not, but you are entertaining.
