I'm all for people giving God All Glory if they mean it, but if they are calling attention to themselves all the time it just doesn't jibe with me..

Point to heaven but then spend all day with "hey look at me" antics

So God doesn't like dancing again? Thanks for letting us know, John Lithgow.

why not?

Well, if we are going biblical with this, which it seems you are, I believe we are taught "Judge not lest ye be judged" as well as "he who is without sin cast the first stone".

Those are good starting points.

Because screw people that cram their beliefs in my face that's why.

I consider myself a Christian FWIW.

I actually rooted for Bal last night...this thread is not about Ray

Seriously!!!??? For the last two weeks, who else have we had to listen to 'preach' and when asked directly about the events of his actions after the Super Bowl in 2000, he hides behind his 'faith' and will not give a straight answer.

Ray Lewis is a hypocrite and I am so glad to see him gone.

But when he was asked about that night he deflected, sidestepted and would not come clean. All the while, he was cloaked in his God-praising, over-the-top, hypocritcal showmanship that is purely sickening. I hope I won't have to see his sorry a$$ again.

Do everything in their power to draw all attention to themselves with flamboyant dances, melodramatic falling out on the ground and mugging for the cameras...

doesn't jibe with my understanding of what giving God all the glory really means...makes me question their real motives...

So people who love Jesus and Preach the word can't celebrate an exciting moment of their lives.

Let me enlighten you.

Just because they are giving God the glory doesn't mean they are not a-holes.

Everyone is an a-hole. The biggest a-holes are the ones who think just because they are a Christian they are not one, along with the ones who think just because someone is a Christian they are God.

Not quite. We are taught to get right so we can then remove the speck from our brother's eye.

It isn't an amonishment against judging--that is what sinners like to pretend is being said. It is guidance on how to judge. Read the whole passage.

quote:

Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye. (Matthew 7:1-5)

If the OP isn't being a hypocrite with his judgment, it is precisely what Jesus instructed. That passage and its misinterpretation is one of my pet peeves.

Church of Christ God really gets pissed if you play instruments, so unless it's air dancing or A capella dancing - and he's a Church of Christ God worshiper - yeah, God doesn't like dancing.

Well stated. A true servant of the Lord would be on the bench out of the limelight, like Tim Tebow for instance.
