proof just going out and buying players while neglecting your youth system is a bad idea

is the united youth system known for bringing players all the way through to the senior team? serious question, not being an arse.

No, but let's be honest, most of the top teams in the world (Barça is an obvious exception) have more non-academy grads on their senior team than academy grads.

United has a successful academy and shoots out more youth players than City or Chelsea, but the stars are largely bought. It's just how it is in big money football.

City and Chelsea have enough cash that they could just buy other team's youngsters and players and make it work.

But City has really pumped the cash in the youth system recently. They can do it all with that money.
