You missed the point. The point was I was just comparing and contrasting reactions to similar game situations in the 2 sports and where each program stands. Because of where football is and has been the last decade talent wise and result wise, a last second win over a bad SEC team would be unaccepted. Yet a last second win by the basketball team over a bad SEC team is a cause for joy because basketball has sucked so bad the last decade (minus a good year or 2). I think everyone else that posted in the thread got it...

I don't think you get his point. In football we are far more talented than Kentucky and have had much more success (2 NC's, multiple SEC c'ships, etc.). In basketball not so much.
Therefore, any win in basketball is a success.
I agree with you that we need to be more thankful for every victory but to expect a close victory over a lesser b'ball opponent to get the same reactions as a close victory to a much lesser f'ball opponent is not realistic.
