While I definitely think it was time for a change at LSU, I'm not going to completly bash TJ for his performance at TCU this year. He didn't exactly inherit a loaded team. His coaching philosophy is tough defense and rebounding, so you're going to see alot of 50-60 pt games. Not my favorite style of basketball to watch, but that style had had some success in recent years (see Wisconsin, Mich. St. or UCLA's 3 straight Final Fours) People are quick to forget that TJ took a talented LSU team in 08-09 and got them to play well enough on defense to win the SEC. It was just his lackluster recruiting that sealed his fate here.

I think he'll ultimately have TCU competitive in the Big 12 in the next few years, but given the choice, JJ's style is more fun to watch and he's got the excitement level re: LSU basketball is slowly starting to go up.

It will go up a lot quicker than you might think. Next year, watch out. This is going to be fun...

That is why it didn't work. We are are undersized for that scheme. It would have taken him years to recruit what he needed. He would have been better off following the Tarkanian plan. UNLV had a lot of undersized teams and he just chose to outscore them.
