If you don't think there are players at LSU that have had grade trouble then you are fooling yourself.
My main point is that LSU offered the kid, the kid never wavered on his commitment, worked extremely hard to raise his grades/ACT and never even visited anywhere else and the staff should honor the scholarship. I wouldn't have cared if LSU didn't recruit him because of grades. That's fine but don't pull the scholarship a week before NSD.
I hate when something like this puts a damper on my love for the tigers.

this stuff happens a good bit, you are just now noticing because you have an emotional investment in lawson (or so it seems)

LSU is one of the best in the country at sticking to their word but we get burnt every year. the staff is tired of taking risks and getting screwed

They didn't pull a scholarship offer...just offered it for one semester late...on a kid whose academic eligibility is clearly up in the air.

That's because you are emotionally invested in this particular case. As a LSU fan, I absolutely want LSU pushing the envelope on the recruiting trail...and any kid who is not eligible as signing day approaches should be evaluated on a risk/reward basis. Lawson's risk/reward ratio is apparently too high.

What Lawson is going through is a result of his academic standing. The fact that he has recently got his act together and worked hard is admirable, but apparently not enough to pull himself out of jeopardy. I'm happy for the kid that he has turned it around. Now, I hope he does whatever is best for him.

That's just the reality of the situation.
