And since you're such a financial savant, maybe you'll acknowledge that while deducting fees for professional services and taxes you blatantly left out any additional source of income, specifically capital appreciation on what is likely to be a significant portfolio.

Only if he is blowing his money. The amount of money he makes per year is elite in any country and any profession. The average income of the top 1% is around 700,000 a year. Unless he is blowing money, he should be quite wealthy.
