Do you have one, and is it worth buying one? I have a Kamado Joe and have smoked stuff with very little issue. I saw these and thought that the peace on mind was worth it. Thoughts?

Got a guru for Christmas. I absolutely love it.
ETA: I've had a BGE for about 5 years and never really had any major issues with long and low but it definitely makes life easier.

Man that is frickin SWEET! I was thinking about building one, but I am gonna wait and incorporate mine in my outdoor kitchen...that I'm gonna do in about a year or so. I can live with my stand for now. Do you have the guru?

Remo, which one did you get?

I got one for my BGE, love it. With 2 young kids, having that makes smoking so much easier. Worth it.

Do you find you need more or less charcoal for a long smoke with it?
Posted on 1/29/13 at 9:07 pm to Lambdatiger1989
I've never had a problem with running out of fuel but I'd say it uses less. I also remove the dock and shut it down when I'm done smoking.

You know around about how much?
Posted on 1/29/13 at 9:22 pm to Politiceaux
Mine is made of oak and the top is 6' long and 30" deep. Could replicate that for +\- $700.

Ok. Let me think about that and get back with you.

I've been checking out the digiQ wifi. I just got an egg so I want to learn how to adjust the temp pretty well before going that route--but I probably will. I use the maverick et-732. It has been great so far.

Less. You can close the exhaust vent to prevent heat loss and the fan is only on enough to maintain a constant temp level. Locks in moisture better than open vents.

So you close the top vent also? I have never used one, so forgive my ignorance.
