I get what you are saying but LSU has had many football players who are questionable students. If this kid is RN or a stud recruit this is not happening to him. That's the nature of college recruiting. It's not always about fairness.

But the rules are different now than they used to be. Signing a guy that doesn't qualify means you pretty forfeit that spot for the next few years.
Staying under the limit means you can carry that spot forward and count back the next year.
That's why there is no such thing as a sign and place anymore.

If LSU wasn't playing by the academic rules, they would've found ways to get D'haquille Williams and Deandre Brown into the program. Their unwillingness to bend on academics is the reason why the staff sat on Eddie Lacy and Darrington Sentimore which allowed them to slip to Bama.
