I believe they initially identified her body with dental records and submitted bones for DNA confirmation. Maybe someone else can comment and clear up. I'm just going off memory and was overseas all summer last year.

Interesting... Not saying you're wrong, because I don't know. But I thought a phone company could track your mobile phone by which towers it longed off of, even if there was no call activity. Maybe just smart phones?

I buy this theory as well. Looked like the first 3 stab wounds were in the back of his right shoulder, as if he may have been on top of her. Then the neck wound from when he jumped off, or possibly when she revived from being knocked out or choked out and she got him when he came back to the truck from looking for a disposal site.
There's no punishment too harsh for that dude.

That's definitely what he had in mind. I've never heard the story of him being drunk and accidentally hitting her. He was calling escort services and couldn't find one available, saw Mickey and decided to abduct and rape her. No doubt in my mind that's what happened. She put up a hell of a fight and he killed her before he could sexually assault her.
I've wondered what would have happened to her if she wouldn't have put up such a fight. Would he have raped her and let her live, or would it have been a rape/murder?

unfortunately, this was the hard part. We weren't allowed to say anything. Without a doubt one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. Can't even IMAGINE what my in laws went through. I'll always respect them more than any person in the world for staying strong that week.

Dateline did a bad job of telling this story.
Adam, I'm sorry your sil head shown at such a vulnerable time. It wasn't necessary to the story Dateline told and I'm sure it was painful. It would have at least been better to have allowed her to tell her side now rather than show that. I feel for her.

I'm no expert bro. I think you're right about them being able to track you by which towers your phone pings off of, but I think they would have to do that in "real time". I can't imagine they would be able to keep all of the data required of where your phone pings off of all the time. I don't see why or how they could do that.
Maybe Adam knows.

He said the whole thing escalated after she reached for her phone to call the police... but who really knows.

You can ping a cell phone that is on in order to help triangulate a location if it's not actively engaged in a call.
