He didn't do anything in the Stars and Stripes Classic last week either. He ran some routes and that was basically it. He did play hard on special teams both blocking and as a gunner.

This sort of reinforces my "what-if" scenario. He made some TD saving special teams plays and potential pick-6's during his time at LSU. He has tackling ability. I wonder how his career would've went if he had played DB where having good hands is a plus but not an end-all-be-all.

Shep has the speed and tenacity (good tackling skills) to play in the NFL - even if it is just on special teams playing offense or defense or maybe both. This part of the game is important and makes up about 15-20% of a football game or something along those lines. A lot of guys
"stick" in the NFL b/c they excel at special teams. This is his calling in football at the next level. He will do fine. He also has the value added skills of being a down the depth chart receiver and/or running back in an EMRG situation.
Now.... on the subject of the LSU coaches not using him effectively I agree to a point. They could have at least put him in many more offensive plays as a decoy just to keep the linebackers and defensive backs honest. Enough on that. I wish him well. He's still a quality athlete and player. Nothing has changed on my opinion of him after 4 years. He definitely should have gone to another school where a more wide-open offense was showcased.
