The Interns. Side project of Futurebirds (If don't know Futurebirds and like the title of OP, you must give em a try).
Two pretty good tracks. First one (smother) has been around awhile but they have a full length coming out, second song Lynn is new.

From a music perspective, I like nothing southern at all. In the interest of being open-minded I will give it a listen anyway.
ETA:
The first song "Smother" was not bad. It did not have much of a traditional country or Southern rock feel to it. The second song "Lynn" however was more like what I expected. Not listenable at all.
What does the majority of their stuff sound like?

If thats your bag check out my buddies' band The Kid Carsons. Louisiana Gal and Murder Ballad are my favorites.

There's an Americana/folk group here in North Carolina that's worth a listen.
Mount Moriah- Lament
Mount Moriah- We Dont Need Much
Mount Moriah- Hail Lightning
