Make no mistake, these guys get compensated very well for what they do.

HS kids get nothing, College kids get a scholly and whatever they get under the table. Even NFL players for the most part don't get much considering most of them only play a couple of years. And even the ones who do make out well...is it worth lifelong disability? These are the questions that are starting to be asked. If enough Mamas won't let enough Johnnys start playing football in middle school, there goes the talent base in ten years.

Boxing was once huge, it's now a somewhat disreputable niche sport populated by foreigners and people who can't make a living any other way. If football doesn't make radical changes, that's its future. And I don't know what kind of radical changes could be made that would 1: change things and 2: keep the kind of audience it has now.

If I could take a couple knocks on the head and bang pretty much any smoking hot coed I wanted for a few years and come out with a degree and no student loans, I'd do it in a second. Lots of people do...hardly anyone goes to the nfl.

There are some rules changes that I would make which would increase safety and maintain the integrity of the game.

One is to require wrapping up in tackles, completely outlawing launching your body at the ball carrier.
