Not sure about that. Some folks get disoriented and they become seasick. It happened to me the first time on the ferry. I had the same feeling in the early stages of an earthquake. It's caused by disorientation when your senses are sending conflicting signals to the brain.
A lot of it may be mental, but there is definitely a physiological aspect to seasickness with some folks. Most astronauts have used medication to help overcome it and pilots are more likely to experience it in simulators than they are in the air.
You can get used to it, but it's definitely a normal reaction. Get in the center of the vessel to reduce motion.
