I moved to Austin in August and I was shocked at how lackluster your football tailgating and atmosphere was and now I'm shocked all over again that I have heard zero buzz about your baseball team just 3 weeks out.

i listen to The Horn a good bit and have t heard a peep. You have a great program historically, what gives? Don't you people take your sports seriously?

lol. Mack Brown and Augie suck.

kidding, but only about Augie. I don't know why they don't give a shite, they usually put out a good season every year.

I'm aware but UT is the only game in town. Although I think an NBA or NHL team could do well here

UT baseball has been down, relatively speaking, the past few seasons - kind of like UT football and basketball. UT baseball games are fun, not Alex Box fun, but fun nonetheless.

Some will jump on the Rangers bandwagon during the MLB playoffs - mostly rabid Dallas Cowboy fans here, waiting and waiting for the successes of the past to return...

when Mack got there he had to start a campaign that went something like "come early, be loud, stay late, wear orange" because the fanbase was so half assed.

DKR Memorial is the quietest 100k (tickets sold) crowd that you will ever see.

I think an MLS team would be perfect for Austin.

I think that 3 TX NBA teams are enough, for now.

Anyone think that an NFL or MLB team somewhere between Austin and San Antonio would do well? The combined population is $4MM and growing very fast, with decent disposable income for most...

LSU was outsell them in seasons tickets back when we had 6 straight losing seasons. People don't realize how much Mack did for UT financially, that's why it will be hard to get rid of him and hey the longer that takes, the better for A&M

I think people are a little sports hungover due to the suckage that is our football and basketball teams. I for one, however, am pumped.

The Horn sucks but it's all we got. There was a couple guys who used to talk a ton of UT baseball on it but I'm pretty sure they got canned in the last go around.

here's the thing - unlike Baton Rouge, which I imagine is a shithole without LSU sports , Austin actually has a thousand other things going for it that compete for sports' attention.

I know - I've never even been to Baton Rouge so I can't really say one way or the other. That's why I put the smiley - doesn't that make all insults ok?

Yeah I know but this is a city with 1.5-2.0 million in the metro area and UT is the only game in town as far as major sports teams go, so don't give me that as an excuse.

New Yorkers are as into their sports as anyone and there's a lot more going on there than here in Austin.

The point is, not everyone is interested in that stuff

College athletics is about all BR has going for it
