Some friends and I have wanted to set up a float/paddle overnight or two night trip where we can haul some kayaks (s.o.t. fishing) up river, drop a truck off at the end of the route, and paddle down and camp on sand bars. We live in southeast La. Any spots around here (miss, al, east tex) that we could do this?

You'd definitely prefer a stretch with some current to it.

Check out "the ghost yakers" on facebook.

they do it all the time. they have launched on the edisto, new, catawba and pee dee rivers at midnight. found a place to camp, wake up and do it again.
