Then they won in 04. They won 4 out of 6 years and made it to the Dome 5 out of 6. I knew Hahnville beat them. Still was the year they lost JDB because he skipped his senior year.

Private schools never see the clear recruiting advantage. Glad it went through
Not all private schools recruit. That's the problem, 78 private schools are getting punished because of the methods of JC and ECA.
The solution, clearly, is for the LHSAA to enforce its own rules against recruiting.
The unintended consequences of what you just said you're "glad" passed is that a school of 200 boys will have to play a school with 1200 boys in the playoffs. Come on man, think.

And whoever said this was about a bunch of bruised pussies that couldn't take losing to Curtis was spot on. Do a root cause analysis all the way back to the 5A and 4A schools not letting them and ECA play up anymore and you've found the source.

Hearing this afternoon the private schools may be looking to add another division (3) instead of 2 now. The dust hasn't settled yet but look to see if the legislature doesn't try to get involved moving forward. As I was saying before the association as a whole is going to be very volatile moving forward after the split.
If things stay the same then and everybody can live with this then this is a huge victory for public schools. Being able to have state championships and still get a piece of the private school money is the best of both worlds.

Not exactly, I've been talking to a lot of head coaches in Acadiana. They blame the open recruiting by Teurlings, STM and Notre Dame for their frustrations. It's not just Evangle, Calvary and JC it's the majority of private schools.

usually when you have changes like this, you wait to implement them and run a PR campaign explaining to fans better. you also don't make up the rules as you go along

Usually, but blood was in the water all week in Baton Rouge. The public schools had the votes and it was just time to move forward.
ETA: It was literally, "we will worry about the details later".

private schools are acting like a bunch of spoiled brats. you dish them and talk shite about the publics, but then you NEED them to justify your championships. play your own kind, simple as that. publics have made their statement.
First, let me say that I am fricking torn on the split, but this is a great day for public schools. However, the fallout isn't over probably because people just assume public and private playing one another during the season will continue. The split has just begun because the other sports are coming next.
What's going to be the tipping point for the private schools? Will the private schools buck LHSAA and go into full tilt in recruiting moving forward. shite is going to get messy.
Also, why do the public schools even want to play the private schools during the season now? $$$ See the public schools want it both ways so let's not act like anyone is pure here.

Our enrollment was lower this time than during the last reclassification. But what do I know, my source was only direct word of mouth from the U-High AD. I'm sure you know the facts better than she does.
This may be the case but it doesn't change the fact that U HIgh has always been able to control its enrollment and its becoming harder now that they are bringing in all these athletes.

This is what I have been saying also. There was always talk of a split but it would have never happened if Curtis and Evangel could still play up. Pussy 4 and 5a schools are to blame.

U-High did NOT move up voluntarily to 3A. The enrollment number was shifted down after intense lobbying by Episcopal and Dunham (maybe others) to get us out of their district. Our enrollment was lower than the last time classifications were done. This is BS

Why such hatred for 4A and 5A schools? Curtis and Evangel have 2A enrollment. They have trailers for classrooms. Why should they be allowed to play in 4A and 5A? If those schools would hire a few more teachers and build more classrooms I'm sure they could have enough enrollment to meet 5A numbers.
Besides, Curtis has never played up in the state's highest class.

Um, no it wasn't. This has nothing to do with other private schools in your district. The administration knew that there was a great chance that U-High was going 3A. That was two years ago they knew that. The AD might just be wrong. I agree with Cyrus the Virus. U-High can control their selection and enrollment.

So do plenty of public schools. Dutchtown being one of them. Surely, you aren't serious with this argument.
