Creole blue looks sharp for one. Otherwise, I think that Pelicans is a terrible name that welcomes mockery. The thing that bothered me most about the name Hornets was the "Bees" crap. And with all that said, the name still sucks and a large portion of Hornets fans and general sports fans think it sucks. Maybe you can write an essay and convince everyone that their opinions are wrong. Try to keep the racism to a minimum, though. It will turn off most people.

Voodoo. Granted this is just the opinion voiced on Hornets message boards and not the fan base in general, but Voodoo is the only name that had a significant number of supporters and a minimal number of detractors.
