So if all you had was a .22 and the government came after you with automatic assault rifles you would rather have a smaller magazine that you had to pause to change it while they are still shooting at you?

What have I done?
Why are they coming for me?
Why do I only have a .22?
Will I survive a full out assault from Uncle Sam?
Citizens will not be able to fight "toe to toe" with the "Government". Resistance will be Guerrilla Warfare. The same way Colonists defeated the Crown Back in the day...
You will be dead with any open engagement. I don't understand the point? 50 rnd mags of 22 versus a squad with body armor and firepower...Losing Battle. Live to fight another day on your scenario.
