After reading a few links from a google search:
Gen 4 mags will fit a gen 3
Gen 4 Glocks seems to require gen 4 mags

The Gen 4's will fit in a Gen 3 and vice versa (as long as the mag release is set in the standard position. If you switch it for left hand use then the older mags won't fit because they don't have ambidextrous notches as do the Gen 4 mags)

No worries, newer Glock mags work in older models.
