Twilight Princess was far darker than any game in the series.

And everyone fricking loved it. So what do they do? Go right back to a 5 year old drawing style for the next one.
I hated Wind Waker when it came out and loved Twilight Princess when it came out. That said, I liked the blend between the two they chose for Skyward Sword. Having recently beaten Wind Waker for the first time I also love its art style. It has withstood the test of time magnificently.
Just because you don't like it doesn't mean everyone else dislikes it.

I've yet to finish SS, and don't plan to
Your loss. I don't believe SS is the best Zelda game like all the hype claimed when it launched, but it is still a damn good game and worth finishing.

quote:Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to NOT finish a Zelda game just because I didn't like the art style. I actually ended up beating WW twice. However, the story in SS never grabbed me. In fact, it bored me to tears. Very slow, and I gave it about 10 hours of playing time before I finally just said frick it. Just didn't like it.
