Can we talk a little about how shitty Brian Herbert's treatment of Dune has been? I actually liked the prequel novels (House Atreides, Harkonnen, and Corrino). But, the Butlerian Jihad books just sucked.

Then they tried to shoehorn novels in between the original books.

And the abortion that was Sandworms and Hunters of Dune. Its like the last two books were just and excuse for B. Herbert to stick all the silly bullshite from his previous books into the ending of Dune.

We could have done without the fricking sandworms that can now swim. We could have done without bringing back every main character from the original novel as ghola's. Omnius and Erasmus were just fricking annoying.

When I finished Chapterhouse: Dune, I got really interested in the Facedancers who appeared to be controlling things behind the scenes. Who were these people? What did they want? Did the Facedancers break away from the Tleilaxu and form a superior race? Fascinating stuff.

Then Brian Hebert had to frick it all up by making them Omnius and Erasmus role playing. frick!

And don't even get me started on the whole Norma Cenva being some sort of Guild Navigator diety retardedness.

I'm actually reading Sisterhood of Dune right now. And its more of the same shite. Here you have this vast universe that Herbert and Anderson are fricking up with their silliness.

Anyway, to answer the OP, I would love to see a dedicated Dune movie/mini series. The Sci Fi versions were ok, but still didn't provide that sense of depth that the novels had.
