Crassus seems to be a great villain. He's not taking Spartacus for granted and even thinks of him as equal

Crassus was very underrated. In the last civil war, he was Sulla's main general at the main battle before the gates of Rome. Broke the line of the enemy despited being outnumbered and pursued them.
He and Sulla took 12,000 prisoners. Pardoned the Romans and executed the rest. Pompey was in N. Africa at the time so as to secure the grain harvest and chase Carbo to ground.
