Yeah the Catleaps aren't worth $500-800. For that kind of money buy from a reputable company with warranties. Not saying that Yamasaki isn't reputable, just that they will honor the warranty in S. Korea and not in USA.

I bought a 24" ASUS off newegg a couple weeks back. It is perfect, with the rebate I think it was $150.

Just FYI all the Koreans use the exact same LG IPS panel. What your are paying for is the bezel and logic boards. Telling you, fckk those catleaps. Crossovers with the yellow pcb logic board are top of the line right now.

Yep. I purchased two Asus 23" IPS monitors for my wife for Christmas for $189 each.

IPS panels
What is the overall feeling on this? I have read that they have a better picture but slower response. Is it that big of a difference? There are a bunch of Asus monitors under $200. All of which look the same and one says IPS so is it prob the best?

They are fricking awesome. The Koreans are not only IPS panels but 2560x1440 res. that is 30% more pixels over 1080.

IPS panels produce truer colors also. They have tre blacks and warmer truer whites. They can run about 4000kelvin but can be adjusted with profiles. There are tons of profiles for color correction online.

So if a bunch of them are similar, I should go with the one that says IPS most likely?

Yes, IPS panels are truer in color. shite looks amazing. The panel will most likely be made by LG no matter what and you won't find any over 60hz but that is okay.
