They had him for obstruction, doesn't mean he committed the murder.

Didn't say he did commit a murder. Didn't say he should be in jail either. But he isn't squeaky clean and he is no role model.

First, Ray didn't kill anyone and that's pretty obvious.
Second, whatever other connection he had is not completely known and his actions after are obviously not laudable.
However, the way he turned his life around after that incident is certainly more than commendable. He is absolutely a role model.
On the field he is the greatest leader of men I have seen in my 20 years of watching sports and is the kind of teammate every fan and player would love to have.
