None of you like Kevin Martin at all with Aminu as a defensive back up?

Kevin Martin can't defend the 3.

Trevor Ariza (27, $7,727,280) *Don't laugh, he would actually be a good fit with the way this team is built now.
Yes, I am laughing not at the fit, but the notion that Ariza would turn down a player option for $7.7M

Don't be so sure. It happens more often than you think because the choice isn't $7.7M vs say $4-$5 million, it's $7.7M vs $16-$20 million. Guaranteed contracts and injury risk often leads player to not leave money on the table. Although we're seeing a lot more one year contracts now so he may not opt out.

What about drafting a SF? I don't follow college ball a whole lot, but people keep throwing out Shabazz Muhammad, Otto Porter and Doug McDermott as possible lottery 3s. Anyone here know if they'd be any good for the Hornets?

Ha! I made my own advanced stat that supports my argument: I present to you: Real Defense (RD) 36 MIN * (Steals + Blocks + Charges + Rebounds)/Min Josh Smith 10.46 Kenneth Faried 10.11 Acid Al (I went there) 9.78 Kevin Durant 9.37 Shawn Marion 9.21 Trevor Ariza 9.04 Lebron James 9.03 Michael Kidd Gilchrist 8.81 Paul George 8.62 Ersan Ilyasova 8.41

I think the draft will show Demps' cards on his strategy this offseason. If they draft an Otto Porter, I think they go the FA vet route at PG. If they draft a guy like Smart or Burke at PG, look for them to go hard at Iggy or shore up the 3 with some of the other options listed in the OP. Either way I think it'll be pretty productive. I hope.
