I'm probably not going to be much help, but my wife works in KY and lives in TN and she does not pay KY income tax. TN does not have an income tax.

You sure about that? I had to file a non-resident return with them for just a few weeks I spent working up there a couple years ago.

Although states laws differ, I'm pretty damn sure that she does have to pay in KY as a resident and would get a $0 credit for the taxes she didn't pay in Tennessee.

You should see a real CPA and not some jerkoff at the Jackson-Hewitt in Walmart or the H.R. Block idiot at Sears.
