With the constant advances in drug testing, how soon does Bradley Wiggins get indicted for doping?

Not a fan of cycling or the Tour de France prior to these revelations, but how does anyone have faith in the winners now?

One thing that's been happening in the last couple of years is that the speed of the race has slowed down, and the ascents of some of the historic mountains are the slowest that they've been in over 20 years. To me that indicates that the peleton is relatively clean nowadays.

I think instead of seeing cycling as the sport, we should just look at it as the highest red blood cell count team award. That is basically what determined the winner. So if they want to make that a sport, I'm sure it would thrive.

It takes a special type of person to enjoy watching cycling...like someone who enjoys watching NASCAR.

There's no comparison. I don't if you've ever watched it but I know a lot of women who watch it with their husbands for the vistas and breath-taking scenery. NASCSAR takes place in an asphalt oval while the Tour de France takes place in the most beautiful stadium in all of sports.

These sports have all done a better job of immediately catching PED users than cycling recently.

It took baseball and track forever to get it right, but they now have much better drug testing programs than cycling.

I guess Baloo's point still stands.

You simply don't know what you're talking about. MLB had no PED testing at all until 2003. Cycling and track & field, which have had random, out-of-competition testung for years, have always been lightyears ahead of the NFL and MLB when it comes to PED testing. The reason that track & field and cycling sanction so many more of its athletes than MLB and the NFL is because the testing is so much better. Furthermore, cycling routinely bans people who haven't flunked a drug test based on circumstantial evidence, but that would never happen in MLB and the NFL because of their strong players' unions.

I'm a cyclist. I don't give a shite about pro cycling.

They're like a whole other species in how they're built, how they cheat and how they think... so I don't even attempt to form any connection to them in terms of sport.
