but that's every large campus. apparently there was a dark ages of architecture (before my time) where no one in america had taste. if you want a prime example go check out a&m's campus where apparently a lot of their buildings were constructed during this time.

I would really be a fan of more of these parking garages and making the current parking lots green space.

The business school is a head scratcher. Looks awesome on the inside though.

The business school is very ugly. It is on par with the west upper deck. Im glad they finally built another african american culture center though. The old one was getting run down.

its like they let some fancypants frenchman get all stylist with it instead of sticking with what works (stucco and spanish tile or whatever).

Agree. That building will be an eyesore for years to come.

It's not completely ugly...

..we might disagree on the style, but the finished building shows well IMO.

Not sure if serious...if so, you obviously have no clue about the history of our university, its close ties to the military, and particularly its Air Force ROTC Detachment. The univesity is host to AFROTC Detachment 310 which goes by the moniker "Flying Tigers." This is in homage to the Flying Tigers of the American Volunteer Group in WWII which was led by General Claire Lee Chennault, a Louisiana native.

The Flying Tigers were flying antiquated P-40 Warhawks against the "superior" Japanese Zero. Despite this, they were wildly successful because they used far superior tactics to neutralize the technilogical advantages the Zero had and then bested the Japanese pilots with their skill. These tactics were the brainchild of Chennault and the skill was due to Chennault's demand on rigorous training.

Certainly looks cooler "on the ground" than when you drive by.

It looks like a bunch of buildings that are made of nothing but plywood and they decided to cover the whole thing with glass.

I'm a business student and thus take most of my classes in the BEC. While I'm also not a fan of what it looks like from the outside, the interior of the building is fantastic. It is by far the best and most technologically advanced building on campus. It's definitely worth a visit if you haven't gotten the chance to see it yet.
