and i am not criticizing the coach (i think he is doing a good job and i think he managed the game well). i am merely questioning one play, bc leaving "the ball in Hicky's hands to do what he pleased" led to a JOB 3-point shot... i doubt they practice that. couple that with USC playing a zone (which LSU has yet to figure out in any game) and i think calling a time out to settle the players and draw up a play would have been a good idea.

That is fair. He even said during postgame, that is not what he wanted. In basketball you have to give your players freedom to do what they think is best because the game evolves so much. Jones wanted Hiceky to get inside and then make something happen, but he put it in JOBs hands.

I didn't like the shot, and I dont think any Tiger fan did. I simply am talking about people who are down on Jones for the game in which I think overall, he coached well in.

I understood the "no timeout" at the end. With the pressure Usce was putting on the ball, we may have trouble even inbounding it.
I think Hickey did what he thought was best by passing it to the open guy. Most times that is right. But, giving the ball to your 6'9" PF 25 ft from the basket to allow him to take the 3 (be it open or covered) was a bad decision by a good player.
Hopefully Hickey learns from that.

JOB is painful to watch. You can see that he has talent. But, he plays as if he has to do everything. He is one of the players that LSU needs to be a consistent double-double guy. And his foul troubles drive you crazy. Hopefully, things get better for him. Right now, he really looks to be lacking in confidence.

As crazy as it is, this team is entertaining to watch. When their shot falls, they look really good. Then they look terrible all of the sudden.

This team really lacks talent down low. Late in the game, if we just rebound the ball we win.

i agree... he does a good job rotating players. i can't wait to see when he has good depth. this is only the beginning of good things to come.
