I think the pessimism is justified after we lose to the 2nd or 3rd worst team in the SEC at home. This team has enough talent that we should expect to win this sort of game.

I agree that the loss was bad. Very bad. I thought it was a must win. Well, we didn't. But I think once the team puts it all together, the squad has a great opportunity to be solid. I don't think it's a coaching issue at all.

We had 22 turnovers last night. 22. Any team who puts up 22 turnovers are gonna have a tough time winning, still, we had a shot at the end of the game to win.

I just don't understand why people are putting this on the coach. I think he did a very good job last night on a night where we had butter fingers and foul trouble. If anything, I was happily surprised that we held the game in check after both hickey and JOB went out with 4 fouls with over 8 left in the game.

And for those who wanted him to call a timeout at the end of the regulation period, why? Do you not think LSU had practiced that situation 10000 times before? Because they have. No reason to let USC setup a defense. I didn't like the shot, but I didn't mind Jones putting the ball in Hickeys hands to do what he pleased.

I understand the criticism, but I think many are aimlessly blaming the coach on a game where he actually did a good job with the rotation (given the fouls). We have a few less turnovers which isnt unreasonable, 22 is a season high, and we win that game.

and i am not criticizing the coach (i think he is doing a good job and i think he managed the game well). i am merely questioning one play, bc leaving "the ball in Hicky's hands to do what he pleased" led to a JOB 3-point shot... i doubt they practice that. couple that with USC playing a zone (which LSU has yet to figure out in any game) and i think calling a time out to settle the players and draw up a play would have been a good idea.
