That's a pretty bold statement.

Yikes. Give the guy a shot. With Bryce Brown and LeSean McCoy, I'm sure Chip will have a beast running game.

2. Out-coached by Stanford A month and a half ago, Stanford beat Oregon 17-14 to ruin the Ducks' hopes for a perfect season. Stanford defensive coordinator Derek Mason had 20 working hours that week (mandated by the NCAA, which includes practice, weightlifting, and meetings) to prepare for this so-called NFL-ready offense, and he held them to two touchdowns, 4-of-17 on third down, 0-for-2 on fourth down, and forced a turnover. I love the discipline and structure that Jim Harbaugh installed at Stanford and that current head coach David Shaw and Mason have continued. And they've done it with much less athletic players than what Kelly has enjoyed at Oregon. If Kelly's high-powered offense could only manage 14 points against Stanford, how will this offense work in the NFL, where all teams -- more or less - are on equal footing?

This is some very hollow analysis, imo.

I will say Lane Kiffin to any of his 3 HC jobs was worse.

"keeping it close" and "not so bad" will only get you one thing in the NFL: fired

I agree with this.

Well, he can't do any worse than 0 Superbowl wins in 14 years. . .

Sounds like he is just trying to be bold. Doesn't really have much to back it up.

He's assuming that Kelly will come in and implement the exact same coachin philosophy in Philly. Things will definitely be different.

But I think this experiment will yield similar results.

That's terrible.

There's recent success of college coaches going pro right now. Especially those running from sanctions.

At least give the guy a chance.

This. The guy is a fvcking moron. Kelly will absolutely tweak his system significantly to adapt to the pro game.

I also like how he calls things like the zone read a gadget play. Zone read is a perfectly legit play. It's not like they're Statue of Libertying it up and down the field you idiot meathead.

agreed. Just wonder what will happen with Vick. He can't afford to take that many shots. He has taken a helluva of a beating the last few years.

And Lou holtz

Spurrier was just such a flop because everyone thought he'd be running it up in the pros

Not even the worst hire in Eagles history, and certainly not the worst hire in NFC East history.

Yeah I cringe every time I read "his system will not work in the pros."
