Seems like a lot of excuses for Ovechkins shitty play half the season more than anything.

But yes, when a team has a terrible start it falls on the stars, just how it goes.

The Atlantic is a pretty crappy division as well,

Lol, not really. Rangers and Isles are playoff teams.

Can you tell me the 13th, 14th, and 15th place teams in the East? Let me help you, Carolina, Tampa, and Florida. Jesus.

Well, considering his lack of goal scoring was in the first 10 games, which is not anywhere near half a season AND I was talking about the reasons for the Caps start... that statement is factually wrong on two counts.

And you're right, Ovie only plays well only against bad teams. Like the 4 points he's scored in 3 games against the Penguins.

Let's play Guess the Division based on Regulation Wins, excluding the division leader:

16-16-16-13 = 61

18-16-15-10 = 59

Which one is the Atlantic and which is the Southeast? How about by total losses (regulation + OT losses)?

19-20-21-24 = 84

21-21-22-26 = 90

So, taking away the Bettman point, the Atlantic is 61-84 and the Southeast 59-90. Ooooo. Huge difference.

By contrast, here's the Northeast, outside their division leader:

21-20-15-11 = 67
13-17-19-23 = 72

The Northeast is 67-72, without their best team and including Buffalo, who is 11-23 taking away OT wins. Yeah, the Atlantic's not very good either.

I guess the Caps' poor start falls on Ovie if you're either lazy or an idiot, and refuse to look at the data. Or, when someone shows you the data you still ignore it because it doesn't fit your narrative.
