Jagr was so terrible for the Caps that a trade for a bag of used jock straps would've been a good deal just to get his arse out of town and his contract off the books. Jagr almost single handedly destroyed the Caps franchise. He was beyond lousy.

The Caps have plenty of wings. Most are tweeners, but depth isn't a problem. If you have Ovie, Johannson, Ward, Brouwer, Hendricks, Chimera, Wolski, Fehr, Crabb, and Laich... wing depth shouldn't be an issue. I wouldn't call that the best stable in the league, but that's a lot of wings, all capable of playing in the top 6 (ok, maybe not Crabb).

They have a lousy penalty kill, are taking WAY too many penalties even if they had a good one, are playing lousy defense, and also just playing listless hockey. But it's not a talent issue. There's talent up and down the roster. They just don't know who they are.

The Caps never should've listened to "experts" and dismantled firewagon hockey. This team is a Ferrari that stays in second gear. Just go back to skating and attacking. Let teams adjust to you. The NHL took a sigh of relief when the Caps went to a more defensive system.

Caps won't win in the playoffs with firewagon hockey though baloo...the real problem is Ovie's mind is still a million miles away back in the KHL...

Forgive me, they have wing depth..for the 3rd and 4th lines. They have a lack of wing talent. Ovechkin is the only wing worthy of being on the top 2 lines. Brouwer and Laich are fringe second liners. Finally get the second line center we've always needed but let Semin walk, brilliant.
