Guess thats why the IRS needs to buy ammo? Or what about the Social Security Admin? Anyone have an explanation for this? And dont say its a play on the budget move because these are record numbers.

I think that they're not taking any more current orders mainly because of the back orders they have already. This time last year Ruger had suspended new orders for the same reason. As it is now, it's going to be a few months before the orders from the last month get filled, if not longer. Ammo will still be available, just not as readily as we are used to. As a side effect of the past month, I think there are going to be alot more people stock piling ammo, and I'm pretty sure I'll be one of them.

One thing this has taught me is that if shite hits the fan you better hope you already have ammo. Unless, of course, your post-apocalypse weapon of choice is a shot gun.

I'm sure some coonass has already made one of these. I would like to see one though because I'd take it hunting with me instead of my normal rifle.

If its one thing this situation taught me is that anything less than 1000 rounds is a critical shortage. Be damned if I am not stocked the next time around.

actually they didnt create the demand, all the guys that ran out and bought the years worth of ammno in one week did that. If everyone wouldnt have went bonkers, there would be no problems with the supply chain or the availability.

There really was nothing to panic over, but now you cant even find fricking 22 LR to go do some goofing off. Does anyone really think the 10/22 is heading to the boneyard

Looks like about a hundred rounds a week for each of their security officers. That seems about right to me for weekly target practice. Also, if you drill down, this request was made in September. It is nothing new.

Ya'll think what you want. But if you really feel threatened by the Social Security Administration, then I personally believe you need to rethink your world view a little.

Flame away.

Do you honestly think that every officer shoots 100 bullets a week? Do you honestly think that every officer needs to shoot 100 hollow point bullets a week?

Not sure what the flame comment was about. I was throwing out some more likely things And I could careless what some hard leg on the interzweb thinks. Do you really think all of that is for the SSA?
