Without question it's had an impact. How could it not?

People that actually (Think) that A&M's joining of the SEC hasn't and will not continue to affect all other SEC teams recruiting in Texas just aren't leaving in reality.

Kids in Texas now know that if they want to play in the best conference in America they can stay home to do it. Texas will still get their share of the kids but now A&M is starting to get a ton of good players. Baylor's resurgence along with TCU's has helped getting kids out of Texas a lot harder then it's ever been.

A&M is and has been a sleeping giant in college football. A&M has almost untapped resources. They are one of the biggest universities in America and they have 1st class facilities, money, huge loyal alumni base, support, resources and one of the best recruiting grounds in America to choose from. They have underachieved for decades.

Everyone said A&M was going to suck in the SEC and they were going to get hammered, etc, etc So much for that working out for everyone. In 1 year they have put a shot in the arm to their entire program and went toe to toe with everyone in the SEC and have the best player in college football running their offense. They beat Bama, won 11 games and are wrapping up one of the best recruiting classes in the country.

A&M is here to stay and I'm actually glad because it now makes the A&M/LSU game much more important in the landscape of college football in the coming years.

Everything you said is spot on. I think most Tiger fans understand this, but some of them don't want to admit it. A&M is very similar to where LSU was prior to Saban being hired.

To be fair, without Johnny Football they would have, no one could have predicted his impact as a freshmen even their coaches.

As to Texas recruiting, RSJ probably would have ended up at LSU had A&M and Johnny Football not started putting up video game numbers, so there has been an impact. That said, Lecouture is from Texas and was at one time committed to Texas A&M. In fact, he played ball at A&M Consolidated High School in College Station before his family moved to Nebraska, so LSU won that battle. Also, LSU already has a Texas commit for 2014, Chris Hardeman a CB from Houston (Alief Taylor).

Sorry, but I don;t see the world is such stark contrast. A&M joining the SEC will help A&M, so you can't say it will zero impact on LSU and LSU recruiting, but it we will still get Texas recruits.

not everyone chief. I've argued they were a sleeping giant for years.
