Nobody has ever said "pelican" is the best mascot out there. You have to look at it relative to its competition though.
Pelicans will instantly be better than at least a quarter of NBA team names. Maybe even half. Why can't you be satisfied with that.
Pelicans is going to be the name so bitching about it changes nothing...just annoys everyone. You need to man up and deal.
