Ender's game is the fourth chronologically but the first published.
It's different than most of the books in the series. It's remarkably different than the others in the original quartet (Xenocide, Speaker for the Dead, and Children of the Mind).
That Shadow series is more about the people around Ender.
They are all very good books. Card is a prolific and quality writer. Sometimes his overt Mormonism bleeds through into the story, but most of the time you can overlook it.
