i'm pretty sure we are saying the same thing. i only think PED's would be more relevant in tennis, because like you referenced, marathon matches are a part of winning grand slams. grand slams are more relevant to being the best tennis player than hitting home runs is to being the best baseball player. similar to cycling, there will be times where skill levels are virtually equal, but one guy can run down every ball 5 hours into a match and the other guy is sucking wind. i dont care though, it doesn't ruin the sport in any way for me. as long as i'm watching it, it is real, no matter how "artificial" the performance might be. i still watch the TDF as well, just because it's amazing, even if it is artificial.

ETA: not that this holds any bearing on if nole actually uses PED's or not, but he was extremely harsh on lance armstrong after he came out this week

Speaking of stamina, I remember losing a shitload of money by betting against Nadal in a slam final (I bet on fed, and pretty sure it was the Aussie final) because 1) he played his semi a day later and 2) it was an exhausting 5 setter against verdasco, I believe. I was like no way this guy will be fit, then he beat Fed in another 5 set match
