We'll be seeing a commercial for it during the Superbowl. It's a 13 episode, supposedly mini, series based on a Stephen King novel.

Anyone know anything about the novel? This looks like it could be interesting not only for the King connection but its being adapted by Brian K Vaughn and Speilberg is a producer.

I hated the book. Some people loved it but I am not a fan.

Simpsons did it!

Not sure about this one.

I think Stephen King wrote this book to pay for a yacht or a summer home in Wallachia or something. It's very shallow. Has cookie cutter characters. Pretty damn predictable. There is a brutal rape (that probably won't make the series). It will piss off the Tea Party because of the way King writes about a certain faction in the town. So probably most of TD will hate it for that reason alone.

I liked the book FWIW.

I'll be watching. Although it should be on HBO or Showtime because the book is kinda dirty. They'll have to edit a lot of shite out.

But this means that they prolly won't follow the book too closely.
quote:

It’s very exciting to take the idea of the book and possibly expand it… The novel only covers a short period of time. The idea of the TV series is not to extended it for a week, but months… It’s like the book in a lot of ways. It takes different directions from the book in other ways and that’s good.
