I was 18 years in 1992, the year Nevermind came out. I thought they were really great. IMO their music really hasn't stood the test of time. I think their Unplugged album is the best thing they did. They aren't bad, just not that good. I feel the same way about The Doors.

Insightful and provacative. I kind of agree with you their music is getting diminishing returns for me as well. But to mention Nirvana in a thread about bands you are "embarassed" to have once liked is disrespectful and stupid. JMO.
