Are these the best guess starting DE's next year? Rasco was a 5 star, played a little this year. I know he was limited but any word on him?

I think rasco will be good. You aren't goin to get much time begin the 3 DE's we had. I'm not sure about hunter. He could be pretty good as well. You never know who's going to excell on the DL @ LSU.

I think Rasco will be really good, I haven't seen any of the rest to have an opinion. Hunter looks the part.

Maclin may be a surprise.

I think rasco will be really good. Won't be flashy but will get the job done. Hunter, maclin and maybe even beckwith- dudes definitely a talent.

I think those two will be the starters. I could see Allen making a push for the 3rd DE spot if he recovers from that injury. I really hope Maclin turns it on as well.

I was just thinking that. I'm excited to see what Maclin can do. I really think we'll be fine at DE. Mingo was a great player but a little overrated in my opinion. He's too small to play DE and often got pushed around against big o-lineman. I just think rasco and maclin are a better fit at DE so I'm looking forward to it. I'd actually say that lavar edwards was a more consistent threat this year than mingo.

Rasco is going to be very good. He's got the best speed for a guy his size I've seen in a while - better than Montgomery's speed even.

Hunter looks the part. We're all excited to see what he can do. Lord knows he flew down the field on special teams this year.

Maclin showed a lot of promise early but had his position changed from LB to DE. He played some then got lost in the fray with Mingo, Montgomery, Edwards, and Aghayere. He should be a solid contributor. Think of him as the new Lavar Edwards - or at worst the new Chancey Aghayere.

Jordan Allen is the one I'm not sure about. I don't think I've ever actually seen him play DE. I know I've seen him on special teams.

Rasco will be good... Hunter is an animal. He's more Montgomery than Mingo but with Mingo's length. Prototypical 4-3 end with big-time NFL measurables.

Hunter has a great motor. I'm not sure a kid goes from not playing at all to starting though. I do expect Herron to make a run at a 2nd string spot as well.

Mingo is a genetic freak and having him on the field was always a nightmare for offenses. However, Lavar was the most consistent on the DL last year. His speed-to-power move is awesome and he uses his hands well at the point of attack.

Hunter played more in mop-up time than any returning DE minus Rasco. It's a safe bet he's got the SDE job dead to rights barring injury.

Of the freshmen, I think Herron sees time at the strong side and Beckwith comes in as a pass rush specialist - much as Mingo did the first year he played.

Mingo was rarely pushed around. Even against the biggest, strongest tackles in America he held up. I agree he was out of position. He was a very good DE instead of the great OLB he would have been.

I wanna see Freak bust out to 5* status. Also, it's time for Ego to step it up. Live up to that nickname.

Rasco will be solid at worst. I think everyone else is a question mark.

If Allen recovers he could contribute. I know Big Cat drills are only a small piece of the football pie but he dominated everyone he lined-up against.

Great opportunity for true Fr to play.
