you can do that no problem. just kill off the windows installation on the old HDD and instead just keep the files. best way to do that is move the files you want to keep onto a flash drive temporarily, format the HDD, and then move the files back.


eta: if you have the extra $50 then definitely upgrade the cpu to the 3570k

I really don't have anything important on this computer. I guess my question would be what are the benefits of having both other than protecting yourself in a crash? Since I don't do anything to heavy maybe just the SSD?
