Did any of you watch this movie as a child? Watched it last night for the first time since childhood and I would not want my kid watching a movie where grandma locks me in a room for a year and poisons me and my brothers and sisters with arsenic while mom abandons us to get whipped naked in front of her dad. WTF!

Horrible, horrible movie. Just fricked up, not entertaining, and it sucks. One of my most hated movies and I don't see how anyone likes this, unless they're a psychopath who is into incest.

Ya think? They start making love for god's sake, and they are the product of incest as well.

Wasn't there an incest scene of some kind?

Not sure how it is in the book, but in the movie, the mom is the one poisoning the children. It shows her sprinkling the poisoned powdered sugar on their cookies.

The incest between the oldest brother and sister was also very toned down in the movie. In fact it was only implied but never shown.

I read the entire series when I was in middle school. Very fricked up. Andrews comes from the school of Updike, and I can't stand John Updike. Still have no idea why I read that series. The brother and sister's son Bat was crazy and could not feel any pain, and the sister liked getting raped...often.

I think it was in a bathtub if I remember correctly. I'm not going to go watch that film again to find out.

The brother goes into the bathroom while the sister is taking a bath and he takes the washcloth from her and cleans her back while they are chatting. The grandma comes in and screams "Sinners!!!" at them. They also slept in the same bed together several times and grandma caught them again and cut all the sister's hair off.
