My point was this:

Every time a player or ex-player kills himself they automatically try to connect the suicide with concussions as a result of the violence of the game - however this article explains that there is no proven connection.

Also depression must be considered. Here is someone who has been the center of attention their whole life.

Now that their career is over, the hero-worship is gone, leading to depression.
