Piers must not have a clue regarding American History. As was pointed out there have been numerous cases of tyranny throughout time. does piers seriously think we have evolved to a point where this is no longer possible. We can look back to as recently as Saddam Hussein. How does this guy maintain his right to reside in America?

The bat, I can run away from it. You can't run away from a gunshot. Someone can shoot you with a rifle from 600 yards. It's by far the most effective killing machine that United States citizens have the right to possess. Will it bring the murder rate down? Probably not. Is it a catalyst for mass murderers? Most definitely. With a bat, the Aurora shooter would've likely maimed a few people maybe broken a bone instead of murdering 12. Sure, the violent crime statistic will go up but the murder statistics will go down, which is all that matters. The pro-gun advocates in this thread sound like a bunch of spoiled children that don't want their toys taken away. Their argument is barely even substantial since it relies on pitiful violent crime statistics and hypothetical situations. I'm not advocating modeling our gun control after England where gun bans have been very effective. I wouldn't go that far. Canada's system would work much better for the US.

Why can't Morgan understand that way more murders are committed with handguns than with AR's, all he talks about is the mass murders and ignores the majority of killings. I Wish he'd either leave the country or shut the frick up. And Piers our government is already getting tyranical, I don't put anything past the Odummy party and we should be armed to prevent them from going too far.

You are obviously thinking of World History not American History. Look back in the US's history and look for times when we used our 2nd Amendment rights to protect us from tyranny. The biggest instance is the Civil War. A bunch of southern idiots that don't want a right taken away (hmm starting to sound familiar.) With the amount of lives and money it cost, it seems like it would've been better for the south if the 2nd amendment never existed. So guns really serve absolutely no purpose not even to protect us from our own government. They are deadly toys that materialistic Americans are overly attached to.

Just like the last time (when even Glenn Beck agreed), there was no ownership of Morgan.
These two clips are actually the longest clips I've seen bc I don't like the guy. Never watch him and dont agree with him. But these far right loons Locke Alex Jones and Breitbart Kid, make him look reasonable and hurt their cause.
This is the problem with you far right extremists. Your filter is so clogged up with your views, you can't see the other side. Then when you lose, you cry voter fraud, media bias, dumb electorate.

So, the counter argument to the stupid "cars kill more people" is even more stupid.
Burts position seems to be that he is OK with being raped or beaten or robbed but not killed. I would like to live in a world where I can prevent me or my family from violent crime as well as murder, how I choose to do that should be up to me and my comfort level. I dont choose to have a gun by the bedside or an AR by the door.
But my neighbor may, and as long as I dont attack him or his family I am perfectly safe. I happen to think the overwhelming majority of Americans and American gun owners are good responsible people. I think some of the militant gun owners are a little goofy, but I dont think they are a threat to me or my family.
I do think that mentally ill kids raised in an atmosphere of violence that gets more and more extreme become desensitized and they devalue human life, including their own.
